Below are links to useful classics web sites which are subscription free and, therefore, can be used by anyone

The Perseus Project
The Perseus Project is a digital library project of Tufts University that assembles digital collections of humanities resources. It is hosted by the Department of Classics at Tufts. Current collections cover Greco-Roman classics. Ancient Greek works in Perseus are stored as beta code, though they can be reformatted for display into a variety of transcription systems.

The Beazley Archive
The Beazley Archive at the University of Oxford has placed online valuable resources for Classics and Art History instructors. The Classical Dictionary contains "illustrated descriptions of characters from Greek myth, art and architectural terms, also maps and place names." The dictionary currently contains over 240 hypertext entries. The Archive also hosts a Greek/Roman Sculpture section, and a Greek Pottery text and image database with over 59,000 items. Note that, however, the database is password-protected and "use is restricted to universities, museums and other cultural institutions." Would-be users must first apply to the Database Director.

TOCS-IN
TOCS-IN (Tables of Contents of Journals of Interest to Classicists) provides tables of contents of about 160 journals of interest to classicists.

Gnomon
Gnomon Online offers a selection of bibliographic information for classical and archaeological literature. Not as comprehensive as the CD ROM version available in the resources page, it does, however, take special consideration for years since 2003.

Fasti
Fasti On Line provides a searchable database of archaeological excavations since the year 2000.

What's New in Papyrology
Recent publications of papyri & ostraca 4th BC-8th AD; conferences, lectures etc. from Papy-L and other sources as noted. gregg.schwendner AT wichita.edu.

The Oath in Archaic and Classical Greece
This is the homepage of the Oath in Archaic and Classical Greece Project, based in the Department of Classics, University of Nottingham, directed by Alan H. Sommerstein, and funded by the Leverhulme Trust, which has created a database of all references to oaths in Greek texts of all kinds from the earliest alphabetic inscriptions down to 322 BC.

Hispania Epigraphica
Roman inscriptions from the Iberian peninsula.

Encyclopedia Mythica
An online encyclopaedia of mythology which includes Greece and Rome.

Wildwind Coins
The WildWinds website has been created as a reference, attribution and valuation resource in the field of ancient numismatics. The data presented here were, for the most part, gleaned from closed online auctions, so you can see for each coin the original auction description, the auction's closing date and time, and the closing price.

Numeral Converter
This site not only converts back and forth between numbers and Roman numerals and dates, it also has a Roman numeral calculator on it.

Latin Dictionary
The University of Notre Dame offers an online Latin dictionary translator.

Publishing Articles
Anyone thinking of trying to get an article published in a scholarly classical journal will find this information useful.

The American Journal of Archaeology provides a useful list of journal abbreviations for classicists.
