The A. Keith Brodkin Endowment for American History, established by the A. Keith Brodkin Foundation, supports the acquisition of print-only media in the area of United States history, especially related to the period of the Civil War and the history of the American West.
The Brodkin Endowment was established in 2000 in memory of Alan Keith Brodkin (August 4, 1935-February 1, 1998). Brodkin held a B.A. degree from the University of Missouri and an M.A.degree from the University of Texas at Austin. At the time of his death he was chairman and chief executive of MFS Investment Management, which oversees the MFS Family of mutual funds.
